School of Rock - I love Jack Black. I am Jack Black. Unfortunately, Mr. Black has not bben properly utilized in film to this point. Oh, sure, he was great in High Fidelity, and that's because they used his snarkiness to his advantage. Films that followed, like Shallow Hal or the miserable Orange County didn't use those talents at all. School of Rock, however, is perfect for him. It HAD to have been written with him in mind, because it was so perfect for him. And in addition to the very good Jack Black and some funny (if somewhat formulaic) writing, there's also some pretty decent music and real live performing kids. I wonder if the bass player has a big sister? ANYWAY, my point is that if you use Mr. Black correctly, he'll be funny and make me happy. Yay for me happy! Joey gives School of Rock three-point-five stars out of four and kills a yak from 200 yards... with mind bullets .

By the way, the Tenacious D: The Complete Master Works dvd will be out November 4th. It includes a full concert, all six episodes of their HBO show, videos, and other stuff. Yay!

Ok. I really want to see this movie so you all can just stop talking about it RIGHT NOW.

And that DVD sounds awesome.

And I concur. I don't see Jack Black ever without thinking of you :p

I saw Moulin Rouge for cheap in Target the other day, that's what got me thinking about it... I have to keep you at least a LITTLE American, even if it is by using Australian-directed movies that take place in France with English and Australian actors.

You need a Jack Black icon. If I had photo-manipulation software, I'd make you one.

P.S. Careful where you aim those mind-bullets, buddy!

'Cause oh baby you know you need this ....

Here are a few ideas ...

In the "a" one, I think he looks a little bit like he's been crossed with Wolverine. Heh.

I'm sooooo excited for the DVD! I can stop watching this tape of a tape of the HBO show I've had for the past few years.

School of Rock, huh?...

Some guys learn it on the streets, some guys learn it in the schools. Me and KG? We were fuckin' born with it, homes.
