I've decided to create a meme. I call it "The Dinner Meme". Propagate it.

If you can think of any other good categories to add, let me know.

List the person (only one per category, except where noted!) who you would most like to have dinner with in each of the following categories. The person you choose should be alive (except the "fictional character" category, obviously) Optionally, you can choose the location of the dinner, but it must be a restaurant that you've actually eaten at.

POLITICS - Barack Obama, easily. I'd take him to Trattoria D.O.C. in Evanston, which is nice but not fancy.
SPORTS - Steve Yzerman. The obvious place to take him is Cheli's Chili in the Detroit burbs.
LITERARY - Kurt Vonnegut. Anywhere is fine. Let's choose McCormick and Schmick's in Providence.
FILM/THEATER - Kevin Smith, just because I think we'd get along. Portillo's would be good.
TELEVISION - I'm going to go with Ian McShane who plays Al Swearengen on Deadwood.
VISUAL ARTS - Chubb, anywhere that won't take TOO long.
MUSIC - Weird Al Yankovic. At The Blue Nile in Ann Arbor, which probably isn't Vegan so it wouldn't work.
FOOD - Rick Bayless. We could eat at Frontera Grill (his restaurant).
THE INTERNET (A blogger or site guru or the like) - Andrew Bell
FICTIONAL CHARACTER - Atticus Finch. Someplace simple. If he can make it to Memphis, I'll take him to Topps.
HOBBY/SPECIALTY (Make sure you tell us the hobby!) - Reiner Knizia, Boardgame Designer Extrordinaire. Maybe some good German food.
FOR A FRIEND (Set up three separate dinners for three separate friends) -
- The Q - I don't know who the Q would want dinner with! Other than me, of course. I'll say that she would like a dinner with... James Gandolfini.
- Monkey Princess needs a dinner with Annie Lebovitz at Webster's Wine Bar.
- dynosaur - A dinner with Dusty Baker at The Cubby Bear! How long can Paul keep his cool?
WILD CARDS (Three other people who didn't quite make it in one of the other categories) -
- Actress Zooey Deschanel, but only if Q is there so she knows that I'm being a good boy!
- Actor/Comedian Steve Martin
- Actor/Comedian David Cross
