I'm home, thought I leave in about 15 hours to go to Newark for a couple days.

My favorite song of the day is Three Dog Night's Mama Told Me Not To Come. It kicks freakin' ASS. Is that a bad thing? An old friend once told me that liking Three Dog Night was proof positive to most music fans that you have your musical head in your ass.

It's time to watch TV now.

I DVR'd the premiere episode of the NBC comedy My Name Is Earl. I had high hopes for it because I happen to love Jason Lee. I'm pleased to report that I did, in fact, like it very much. The premise, if you didn't know, is that he won $100k in the lottery only to get hit by a car and lose the ticket. While in the hospital recouping, he sees a bit of the Carson Daly show where Carson talks about how good things happen to people who do good things. He calls this "karma". Earl, under the impression that Carson invented this idea, thinks it might be true, so he makes a list of 258 bad things that he's done and vows to set them right. He sees immediate positive results (and immediate negative results when he gives up on one of his items).

It's really pretty funny. It's produced by the same studio that does Arrested Development and shares some tangential similarities with that show.
