A lot of words, but nothing really said.
Mar. 8th, 2004 10:32 amHi! How are you? I am fine. There is not much to report. On Saturday, I went to
stacis' place and smoked and drank and played games. I got way into poker. WHO WOULD HAVE FIGURED? Many good people were there, and much love was spread around. It was 'specially good to see
mr_cynical, who I had not seen in aaaaages. Yesterday was my first guitar lesson. I remembered it about 90 minutes after it started. Ooooops. I suck. Then I slept pretty much all day. Knocked off a few more chapters of Snow Falling on Cedars, which I think is pretty good. I would never try to force my opinion down your throat like this asshole. I'm a braniac with a veiny sack resting on the brow of Erica Elaniak. I watched Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood last night and I have deemed it to be an excellent movie. Kurosawa is... GENIUS. I don't know what else to say about him. I need to continue to develop my Kurosawa dvd collection. I just mailed my, er, the girl I'm seeing a card. For no reason. It was just a "smile, huh?" card. I'm so sweet, just like a good breakfast cereal. For lunch I think I'm going to go to Fat Tony's Luke's, which sounds weird. There's this little chain of beef places* up here in Lake County, IL, called "Luke's". This particular Luke's is apparently owned by some guy who goes by Fat Tony. So it's Fat Tony's Luke's. I didn't say it made sense. Cheese is yummy. I need to work more on the fancy cheeses. I like blue cheese well enough, but I'm not a fan of sharp cheeses. Also, i love my cat. I snuggled with her a lot last night. Staci is mean and wants to kill my cat. It makes me sad when she says things like that. :( My moo-cow is wunnerful and I can't help it if mean people hate her, but I'll love her forever. Okay, that's enough for now. I'mma write Mrs. Wright right now. That was used in an advertisement for voice recognition software because it uses homonyms. Words that sound alike aren't natural and therefore they should not be allowed to get married. Okay, though, now I'm going to write the footnote for the asterisk I asterisked** earlier, and then write the footnote for the double-asterisk that I just asterisked, and then post the entry. You will read it, think me weird, and write a reply anyway, because it's not like my weirddom*** is anything new. Also, now I have to write the footnote for the triple-asterisk that I asterisked in the sentence previous to this.
* "Beef Places" are fast food restaurants. Chicago is great in that it has a lot of mom-and-pop (or small-chains) fast food places, each with their own specialties. Italian Beef is one of the great local sandwiches, which is basically thinly-sliced boiled beef on a nice chewy-crusted roll (probably Gonella or Turano), then dipped into the boiling-juice. Yummy. For my money, the best Italian Beefs are at Portillo's. Chicago-style hot dogs (with tomato, pickle, mustard, celery salt, sport peppers, onions, relish...) are another local favorite, though I don't think any place has a clear grip on the winner there. Maxwell street polish sausages are another thing I love: A polish sausage on a poppy-seeded bun, with mustard, grilled onion, a pickle wedge, and sport peppers. For my money, Fluky's is the winner here, though I haven't had a Fluky's Polish in a looooong time.
** Shut up; 'asterisk' can TOO be used as a verb!
*** weirddom: It's a good word. The dominion of my weird****.
**** Shut up; 'weird' can TOO be used as a noun!
