Documenting more poor awards.
Apr. 2nd, 2002 12:08 amSo, as I said, I watched the Oscar winning documentary for 2001, Murder on a Sunday Morning. It was a fine story, but not really that much as a documentary. It's exactly what I would expect for an HBO documentary. As a matter of fact, the ones I've seen on HBO in the last few weeks are just as good. It's a shame that this film won over some great documentaries I saw in 2001, like Startup.com or The Endurance or Go Tigers! who weren't even nominated (but were nominated for Independant Spirit Awards). They probably weren't even considered because the documentary category is just a joke. It's the worst joke in the Oscars (except this year when LOTR's score sucked it's way to a statue).
I haven't seen a movie in the theater in more than two weeks. And with ChiDope coming up, it might be a whole 'nother week before I do.
