I voted. For the fourth time, I got to proudly check the metaphorical box next to Barack Obama's name. I still remember checking into the Democratic candidates in the 2004 Senatorial primary, where I first heard of Obama. I was originally leaning toward Dan Hynes because I knew a little of him. I also really didn't like Blair Hull. So I started reading about the candidates at the Tribune and Sun-Times websites, and I started reading about this Barack Obama guy. And I just kept reading about him, and then the papers endorsed him and I read the reasons behind those endorsements, and I was hooked. I'm glad he represents my state in the Senate, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to vote for him today.

I think that this was the first time I mentioned him in my journal. It was March 04, just before the Illinois primary.

I have to confess that at first reading, I thought you were saying you voted for Barack Obama four times TODAY. And I was alarmed. I mean, you always hear rumors about Chicago politics but damn ...
