Neko at the Museum
Oct. 10th, 2003 02:27 pmSo, I went to the Field Museum last night and saw a concert. IT RULED. It was right in the main hall, with fighting bull elephants and Sue the T-rex looking on. The opening act was Trailer Bride (they're playing tonight at The Hideout, but I don't think I'm going). They were a good alt-country band. If you like Neko Case's solo stuff, then I think you'll like this band. I just purchased their album online, so I'll let you know more.... Neko came on, accompianied by just a slide guitar/banjo player and a stand-up bass player (Tom Ray, formerly of Sonic Voodoo). She played a good 15 songs or so, and it was amazing. The museum hall is very echoy and it really highlighted her voice well. Simply great. And I get to see her again tomorrow. Yay for that! I have a small crush on her. I tried to take some pictures with my camera-phone, but they didn't come out very well at all. I'll try again when I see her tomorrow.
