(no subject)
Nov. 5th, 2008 01:37 pmI have started this post about ten times now. I intended it to be a little essay on the election, but it's just not coming out right, so I'll leave it with the two points that I seem to be able to form with reasonable clarity:
I am a liberal. More than that, I am a proud liberal. I prefer the term progressive, but liberal is not the dirty word that it's been made out to be.
For those concerned that Obama is a black nationalist, a socialist (more so than any other president with a graduated tax system), naive, weak, or in over his head: I am confident that your fears will be assuaged. I believe that Obama will serve the country well, with even temperament, inclusive governance, and fair-mindedness. He is a natural leader and will surround himself with a great team of advisers.
I believe Obama can change the world for the better. It remains to be seen if he indeed will.
