Bush urged to follow Illinois Lead on Capital Punishment

Wait, are you talking George W. Bush? Former governor of Texas, where they execute more criminals than any other state (IIRC)? While we're at it, let's ask Santa Claus to shave his beard and Ron Jeremy to stop fucking girls.

Within One Week:

• I will have an appointement set-up and confirmed with a therapist.


• I will have practiced guitar a total of two hours (cumulative, not all at once).


• I will cook myself a meal that I haven't cooked before.

My workspace

I believe that donkehote declared today to be "take a picture of your workspace day", ( so I did. )

I hate it when I hate people purely out of my jealousy of them. And yet I do it. Two at once right now, actually. Go me. Not hate hate, just... hate. You know what I mean?

State quarters

postmoderngirl's post about the California state quarter choices made me look into the two for my home states:

• Michigan, where I was born and raised, has narrowed it down to five choices. ALL OF THEM SUCK. This will be one of my least favorite quarters. In my search, I found the designs that some guy submitted, and I like them a LOT more (especially the middle one). I also like his Wisconsin design.


• Illinois, where I now live, is currently being produced. It beats the hell out of Michigan, but suffers from the typical problem of trying to jam too much into the small space. (Though now that I see the finalists, maybe that was the best available.)

You can also see the official designs for Alabama (which apparently couldn't figure out how to get both incest and lynchings on the design, so took the easy way out), Maine (not a bad looking quarter), Missouri (good idea, poorly executed), and Arkansas (home of the floating diamond of death).

I will update my "Ranking of the State Quarters" list sometime soon.
