Of movies nominated for best picture in the last five years, which is the only one that Joey didn't see in the theater (and, in fact, still has not seen)?

Jerry Maguire

Congrats to [livejournal.com profile] racergirl and [livejournal.com profile] katiekilldare for correct guessing. You each win a coupon for free anallingus from me. Non-transferrable, thankyouverymuch.

See the original list of twenty
  1. Waking Life - This film was shot on film like a normal movie, and then was put through a digital process to make it look cartoon-like. It's supposed to be phenomenally inventive.
  2. Donnie Darko - I saw the trailer for this, and it looks spooky. I hope it isn't a case of Misleading Trailer Syndrome.
  3. Dancing at the Blue Iguana - A movie directed by Michael Radford, who directed one of my favorite movies, Il Postino. It stars Jennifer Tilly, Sandra Oh, and Darryl Hannah as strippers. Oh yeah, I am there.
  4. In the Bedroom - Won some awards at Sundance, and by all accounts I have read, it's a fabulous film.
  5. Ocean's 11 - Directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic and Erin Brockovich), this one is a little TOO star powered. It stars pretty much everybody. I hope that Soderbergh can keep the stars under control.

I saw Bandits at a sneak preview tonight. I enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommended.

Job news

So, I got a job offer from the place in Boston. It's is a reasonable but not great base salary plus a bonus after 90 days, and all my relocation expenses. I have until next week to make up my mind. The money is slightly more than what I was making at my old job, but apartments are more in Boston so it's really LESS than before, you see. I'll probably look in southern New Hampshire for housing because it's much cheaper. The drive will be longer, maybe an hour, so I'll need to start looking at cars again. Maybe something used but not too old. Maybe I'll wait until I get my bonus so I have more for the down payment.

I have another interview on Monday for a company here in the Chicago area. The company is much smaller than the others (only 7 employess in the office). I have told them already that I would need a decision by the end of the week so I can make a decision.

If I had to lay odds, I'd say 60/40 in favor of Boston right now. But then again, I've been wrong before.
