beavertails: I just keep my ears open. Neko Case I found because I sorta knew a guy who played bass with her. So I listened to a couple of her songs online, downloaded a few, and liked her. The Moldy Peaches I heard on an NPR show. My latest favorite, Trailer Bride, I heard when they opened for Neko at a recent concert. Eels I heard first on a Borders listening station. Same with Diana Krall. Sumack was recommended to me by
nymysys, who had it recommended to her by
anamorphic.
vfc got me started on MC Paul Barman... So, like I said, I just listen to a lot of stuff.
nymysys: I DO miss you. I'll visit you not-soon-enough. I'm out of vacation time for the year, unfortunately, so it'll be in 2004.
drainbead: The worst thing about myself, hands down, is my self-image. I try to improve it, but I haven't had a lot of luck. It's hard and I'm constantly finding things to get down on myself about. And then, sometimes, out-of-the-blue, someone else will come along and knock me down a notch.
wbrook: With a dirty girl who has devious ways of keeping me excited, I have a pretty quick turn around time. I'm confident I could do 8-10 times before the equipment just gave out on me. I could be wrong, though. Never been endurance-tested.
lucyshoe: Nope, i don't read that community, but I just went and checked it out. It's okay that you told me. Probably for the best. I don't like being annoying. It made me sad, but your original comment makes me feel better about it. Thanks.
glenn5: I do like him. I haven't seen Hotel, but I liked Time Code well enough as an experiment. I guess I wasn't expecting it to have a great story, so I wasn't too disappointed when it didn't. It was an interesting exercise and I liked seeing a different technique. So I image I'll think Hotel is pretty decent, too. I really liked Miss Julie, but a lot of that was due to the intensity of that acting by Peter Mullins and Saffron Burrows. The first Figgis movie I saw was The Loss of Sexual Innocence, which was... weird. But interesting. So, yeah, I like Mike Figgis. I like Mike Leigh more, though.
