I am going to Vaughn, Ontario, on Monday to do some software upgrades at a warehouse for Sobeys (Canada's second-largest grocery chain). Grocery warehouses are huge buildings stuffed with the stuff you find on the store shelves. The chains buy it in bulk and store it in the warehouse. Robots take the product and puts it in this HUGE shelf system... thirty aisles, each one 50 feet high and hundreds of feet long. When a store needs product, the robots pick the product ordered, figure out how to best arrange it on the pallet, and wrap it for shipping. It's really interesting. It's also good place to hide if the zombies attack due to lots of food (though probably not great in security).
Anyway, I'll be at one of those next week.
