Game Convention
Jul. 1st, 2006 11:57 pmGame convention. Long day. Many games bought; too many to list (right now). Best game purchase is the inexpensive and readily available Poison. I never played it, so I don't know if it's any good. Why do I like it so much? Because I got it signed by my favorite game designer, Reiner Knizia. That's a big deal in the game world. It's like a poker player meeting Doyle Brunson or a crappy Celtic musician (redundant?) meeting Enya. It rocked.
I also got to play Crokinole with Tom Vasel, a podcaster who I listen to and who is fairly well known in our circle of geeks. I was glad that I brought the board.
Q was a HELL of a trooper and we stayed about 13 hours at the convention (with a two hour break for a bookstore and a wonderful dinner), but she was wiped out by the end. Now we sleep, and hopefully meet up with Nikki and Eric for games tomorrow morning before the long drive home.
