Luddites have a point...
May. 4th, 2006 01:54 pmAll of my technology has been breaking lately. My home DSL went down, so I tried to use my Blackberry to connect to the internet, and pretty soon THAT went down and now I can't receive data with it (so no e-mail to the phone, which completely defeats the purpose of it). I'm supposed to get my DSL back this morning and I'm still working with tech support on my phone. The phone tech support said that they couldn't figure it out and they escalated me to the super-duper-smart tech support people who haven't called back yet.
Add to that the fact that my cable box freezes every afternoon between 4 and 5 pm. It'll still show whatever channel it was on when it froze, but I can't change channels or watch DVR or anything (and the clock doesn't update) until I unplug it and re-plug it. They downloaded new firmware to it, but it didn't solve the problem.
In good news, I got a new portable XM satellite radio receiver yesterday, the brand new Pioneer Inno. It's very pretty. Susan saw it and fell in love with it and I'm sure she'll have one soon. She even kissed mine a couple of times. I've recorded four songs off of XM now, including Kanye West and Beyonce, which isn't my typical type of music, so that's interesting. One of the main reasons that I got it was to listen to hockey games, so of course I have to wait five months for my favorite team to have another game.
