Feb. 26th, 2006 10:49 amYay Sweden!
I was rooting for Sweden in the Olympic hockey gold medal game because five of the Team Sweden players are from my favorite hockey team, The Detroit Red Wings. To make it even better, all three goals that Team Sweden scored were put in by Red Wing players (Zetterberg, Kronvall, and Lidstrom). The other two are Tomas Holmstrom, who didn't put in a puck but obviously helped the first two goals by standing right in front of the goalie on the power play (he's the best in the NHL at that) and Mikael Sammulsen, who I think got a couple of assists on the day. So it's a good day for Sweden and the Red Wings, too! Hopefully they can keep a little magic for the Stanley Cup playoffs!
Another Red Wing, Robert Lang, got a Bronze for the Czech Republic.
