On Television
Sep. 15th, 2005 10:51 amSo, there's a new show on Fox called Bones that stars Emily Deschanel, the sister of my long-time secret girlfriend Zooey Deschanel. While Emily is still quite pretty and has a very nice rack, she's no Zooey. She hasn't the same quirkiness, though occasionally you can hear similarities in the way she talks to her sister's vocal qualities. My point is that quirky does it for me.
House is one of my current favorite shows. I have decided that this is almost entirely die to Hugh Laurie's characterization of the titular character, Dr. House. I don't know if the individual plotline and broader story arcs do much for me. I just know that I love love love the way Laurie plays the character. Dr. Cutty, Lisa Edelstein's character, does a pretty good job too, but it only works because she plays well off of House. Also, I'd love to bonk Ms. Edelstein. Jennifer Morrison is also quite bonkable.
I'm finally caught up on Lost, the rerun season being completed last night (save for the two or three episodes that ABC decided to skip, making it quite confusing to people who didn't KNOW an episode was being skipped. I liked it quite a bit more in the middle of the season than the end where things started to get a little too forced for my tastes. Still, it's compelling and the finale did a good job to making me look forward to the new season. I'm slightly afraid that the show will try too hard and fizzle, but let's hope not.
Alias has been a favorite of mine, though I'm looking forward to the new season a lot less than I thought I would.
I've been watching Rome on HBO because I like HBO series in general. This one is only three episodes in, but it's fairly compelling so far. It's no Deadwood (the best show on television IMHO), but it's pretty good. Full-Frontal nudity certainly never hurts. It is the series of HBO that make me LOVE "On Demand" cable.
The best show on network television, though, is Arrested Development, which I am EAGERLY looking forward to restarting on Monday. Kick ass.
