Sin City rocked my motherfucking world. It's very comic book. The look of the film, obviously, but also the acting and dialogue. It's violent, but very comic-booky in it's violent bliss. And THE GIRLS. They could have named this The Joey-Mark Masturbation Hour (plus lots of violence). Jessica Alba, yeah, okay. But Rosario Dawson. OMFG God Brittany Murphy, finally with some quirkiness to her again. And Carla motherfucking Gugino. I've been in love with her for yeeeeears. And did you see her body? It's fucking stellar. But I liked the movie apart from all that, too. Blown away, and I'm not a fan of Robert Rodriguez or Frank Miller or anything..Four stars.

Fever Pitch was cute. I love Drew Barrymore. I could be so in love with he f'real, if she wasn't a huge movie star and so gorgeous and stuff. I have a thing for quirk and she's got it in spades. I actually didn't know it was the Farraley Brothers until the movie was over (though I figured it out since it had a scene with the old guy in the wheelchair who's in all their movies).  Three stars.

Had anyone told me that Zooey Deschanel was in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I would have gotten excited about it long before now.

Coming home I stopped by BLockbuster (ugh) and rented the last three discs of season one of Deadwood, then stayed up until 2:30am watching five more episodes because I couldn't wait. I'm in love with this show. I can't wait until the re-runs start on HBO so I can catch up on those, too. I can't believe that Dan is also Warren from There's Something About Mary.

Two commercials I hate (though I'll admit that the Burger King is pretty creepy, too):

1. The Navy has a commercial touting their technology. They show some sort of electronic survelience that focuses in on a fly that is walking on a naval guy somewhere. Next they show a missile being launched. That's a lot of firepower for a fly, that's all I'm saying. There will be some collateral damage.

2. Bridgestone has a commercial where an SUV is parked on a very steep hill. As the woman walks away, the car starts to slide downhill, as the voiceover says "need new tires?"  Well, if the tires had worn down, they would have had MORE friction, not less, unless it had worn down to the point where teflon or something was exposed. And I don't think tires have teflon. But, anyway, it's not a very good ad.

One commercial I do like is the one with the girl singing to the various colors of M&M's. You know, the "nothing rhymes with orange" one. The girl's really cute. I don't care for the green bit much. I like the Blue and Yellow ones.
