This is the userpic of a friend of a friend of mine ([livejournal.com profile] ilubmoney, friend of [livejournal.com profile] welfy). It's awesome.

Interesting. In response to this post, there are two basic responses:  "It's a Radiohead video" and "I don't get it".

I've never seen the Radiohead video, because I almost never watch videos because I hate MTV (and because they don't play videos), but now I want to see it.  Can you tell me for which song this is the video?  Thanks.

As far as not getting it: Assume it's because the magical thing the smiley says is not known.  See, that's why I like it.  WHAT DID THE SMILEY SAY? we don't know, but after he said it everyone who as agin him was suddenly wit him (notice that after he says it, they are all on their sides, as is the entire smiley community). Had the smiley actually said something, it would have lessened the impact. This way I can leave it up to my own imagination!  Maybe he said "Nicole Kidman is on a cock-sucking spree, but only for side-laying smileys!"  Maybe he just said "it's really really fun.  You have no idea."  Maybe he pointed out the futility of life and about how everything you want in life is just a joke and dreams DON'T come true and everyone just needed to get fetal.  That's the beauty; we don't know!

The same thing happens in movie.  I call it "pretty little package syndrome". A lot of people want their movie to end with everything resolved.  I, for one, don't care if things are left hanging.  I think that it can be very powerful.  If you want the ultimate in movies that leave you hanging, I recommend John Sayles' Limbo (I liked it).  For an example of a movie that I think would have better without the pretty-little-package ending, I'll discuss M. Night Shyalaman's Unbreakable: spoiler warning, in case you still haven't seen it )

It's been a long time since I've gotten all opinionated about something.  Feel free to disagree.  As for me... well, Ms. Kidman's coming down the street, so I gotta get out there and lay down.  Or lie down or whatever's grammatically correct.
