Fun Scrabble night with the lovely and fragrant k_rocked.  I won both games, but it was the company, as always, that made it fun.  The first game I got out to a good lead early, but then she almost caught up to me before I pulled away at the end to win by 30.  The second game... Well, she was never in it. 

• She started with AURA (8 pts) and I came back with PRY for 15. 
• She had a bad rack but tried to make do with it, and played HA for 9.  I came back with TRILLED (also forming HAD) for a 68 point bingo (though a better play that I saw just after would have been TRILLED/AURAL across two double word scores for 87). 
• She comes back with LOOK for 16, I play ENTICES/AURAS for 73 points and another bingo.  Two bingos in a row.  After the third play she was behind 123 points. 
• A few plays later I found ZEROS with the Z on a triple letter score and the S on a double word score, for another 68.  After 5 plays she was down by 188 points. 
• The rest of the game played fairly evenly, but by then the damage was, of course, done.  Final score was 396 to 203.  I was mad that I didn't hit 400.

I hope she'll play again with me some day.  I think she's mad that I studied. :)

Today I went to Ikea with the very sweet and pretty bristlesage and the masculine and mysterious dynosaur.  I rented a U-Haul so we could bring home a new couch!  Only Ikea didn't have it in stock, so fuck.  And, to boot, we got the U-Haul stuck in the snow and half the neighborhood came out to push.  Well, three guys.  But Ikea still didn't have the couch.  Had I been a smart man, and I am not, I would have checked stock before I left.  But I didn't, because I'm not a smart man.

I did, however, buy a coffee table.  Leksvik, the coffee table.  It's got cubby holes.  You know who likes cubby holes?  Elsie Moo-Cow.
