Well, I  suppose no one is wiating on the edge of their seat for my election opinion, but here it is anyay:  We'll live.  If Bush has four more years in power, we'll live.  Things are going backwards, for sure, and civil liberties will be abused, but we'll live.

Edited to add: And, besides... With the amount I'm smoking lately, the cigarettes are more likely to kill me than the President.

Edited to also add: There was a lot of energy, both physical and emotional, going into this election. People shouldn't be surprised that there's a lot of emotional outpuring now. That's alls I'm saying.

In my mind, I'm turning Barack Obama into the last hope for progressive government in the US.  He's become Baruke Obamawalker, the Rebellion's last hope against the Empire.  I hope it doesn't turn out that Bush is his father.

Do you remember Janie Porche?  She was in one of those Apple "Switch" commercials a couple years back.  She saved Christmas, if that helps.  I mentioned back then that I was crushing on her.  Well, the director of those videos (the great Errol Morris, and why isn't Gate of Heaven on dvd, damn it?) did some other political commercials, and that got me to thinking about Janie, so I googled her a little bit (I wish that was exciting as it sounds).  Turns out she has her own website now with some music and art that she's done, and to make matters worse (for my crush), she lives in Chicago.  Le sigh.

Who wants to spend Christmas downloading Windows drivers?

Seriously, though:  Janie Porche.  Her song Sick Day (which you can downloaded here) makes my tummy fluttery.  Plus, of course, she saved Christmas.

Also, she just sent me an e-mail in response to one I sent her.  So that's cool.

It's the reason I hate having crushes, and even moreso why I hate how easily I crush.

I was going to go to bed, but Animal Face-Off is on Anumal Planet right now.  This is where they build mechanical versions of two animals (for data gathering) and then have them do a computerized battle.  Not enough to keep me up most nights, but today is HIPPO day.  They're having it battle a bull shark.  C'mon, the hippo will MOIDER him.  They also talked about how hippos have huge teeth (even though they're herbivores) to fight and to PROTECT THEIR YOUNG.  You know what that means?  I saw baaaaaaaby hippos.  Live, on tape, on television.
