I slept a lot yesterday (the 3rd), so now I'll not be able to sleep much today (the 4th). Oh well.

I did finish Cat's Cradle. I don't remember it being that short of a book. I still love it. Tomorrow I will start a re-reading of The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Maybe I'll want another tattoo when I'm done.

The Zoo on Monday, I think.

Oh, here's a passage from near the end of Cat's Cradle that I thought was good, and appropriate given the patriotic holiday we're in the midst of (although it'd be more appropriate on Memorial Day):
And I propose to you that if we are to pay our sincere respects to the hundred lost childres of San Lorenzo, that we might best spend the day despising what killed them; which is to say, the stupidity and viciousness of all mankind.

Perhaps when we remember wars, we should take off our clothes and paint ourselves blue and go on all fours all day long and grunt like pigs. That would surely be more appropriate than noble oratory and a show of flags and well-oiled guns.

So, I watched The Rules of Attraction, too. I purchased it last night along with some kitchen towels, a mini-sewing-machine, a bed-side light, and a bunch of other crap. Anyway, I like the film. It's stylish and it's bleak. In keeping with that theme, I shall now go watch my favorite stylish-and-bleak film, Requiem for a Dream. Don't wait up for me.

Requiem for a Dream is still a spectacular movie. Ellen Burstyn breaks my heart and Jennifer Connelley still breaks my zipper.

In keeping with the stylish-bleak-film theme that I started, I finished up with Wet Hot American Summer.

Now I'm going to go masturbate and sleep. Or maybe sleep and masturbate. We'll see.

So I'm pretty much a smoker now. That's something I didn't see coming.

As for the potential job: I took a personality test in January for this position I'm trying to get. While I supposedly did spectacular in ability and intelligence, I was "light" in the working-alone thing. So the company is flying in their shrink to interview me face-to-face. They've spent way too much money on this thing so far. I give myself a 50-50 chance of getting an offer.

As for the current job: It spends a lot of the time sucking, but I'm trying to get stuff done.
