MAN am I pissed.
Apr. 12th, 2004 11:04 pmOkay, I'm going to be unreasonable again. Bush is a fucking moron. So much so, that tomorrow he is having only his 12th press conference in his 3+ years in office. Why so few? Because he doesn't know what's going on. His administration does whatever it is they do and he's just along for the ride. I'm sure tomorrow he'll have scripted answers for all the questions that are asked, most of which will be vague or just plain avoidance. But as long (a) as taxes are lowered, (b) those pesky Iraqis pay the price for attacking the WTC (that was them, right?), or (c) the Bible becomes the lawbook of the land, or some combination of the three, then who cares? The rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, the oil keeps flowing, Halliburton gets their contracts, and everybody wins (except, of course, the Iraqis, the soldiers, the poor, etc.).
Rush and Ann and Bill and G-Dub would call me a terrorist sympathizer. They'd say I hate freedom and I hate America. They'd tell me that I should be happy that I have the right to criticize the government, which the Iraqis couldn't do under Hussein. You know what? I am happy that I have free speech. And I love America. And I love freedom. And I hope every soldier in Iraq and elsewhere makes it home safely. And maybe I AM a bit of a what they'd call a sympathizer, because I am filled with RAGE. HATRED. I want to fight, I want to claw, I want people to see my rage and understand where I am coming from. I want the people who disagree with me to hear me and GET me.
I still can't believe that people support that administration. What have they done that makes people believe that they should be re-elected? Is it just as simple as "as long as my taxes are lowered" or "as long as the Bible is law"? What the hell do they see? DO they think Bush has good policies? Because, honestly, I think it IS just "lower my taxes and I don't care what you do to the gays or the constitution" for a lot of people, and "just keep the Bible law and I don't care HOW many non-Christians die overseas" for a lot of people.
This is all rhetorical. I don't expect people to defend their views. I just need to vent BADLY (obviously with over-generalized claims, no doubt spewed forth at me by the "liberal media". Actually, in case you can't tell, I HAVE been listening to liberal media, because finally it DOES exist for real: I've been listening a lot to the new liberal radio network AirAmerica lately. You can listen to it streaming through realplayer, and I encourage such. It's good radio, for the most part.
I need to get involved. What do I do in a Democratic area of a Democratic state? Maybe I need to take my show to Wisconsin. Or start punching every conservative I see, which is tempting. And Barack Obama could definitely use my help, I think. I just don't know what I'll do if Bush wins. Give up?
