missfranFrannie rules. She calllllled me and left me a message in her amazing accent. I think she has my favorite accent in the world. Hmm, eight_fifteenKimmerly has a wonderful accent, too. It's close. Frannie lives farther away, so she wins.

edwardinaEddy also rules. I talked to her on the phone last night! She was naked when I called. She called it irony, I called it fate. But then she got dressed, so maybe THAT was fate, too. Fate sucks. But Eddy does not. I enjoyed talking to her. I haven't actually heard her voice for almost TWO YEARS (since Dopetoberfest). How f'd up is that?

In other news, um... I have gum. And I just had a bagel with grape jelly. And stacisStaci doesn't update enough. And I have a fantasy football draft this weekend. I'm thinking I should move to Canada to avoid it. Also, I should really try to detach myself from politics because it just makes me angry and bitter. Also also, the wonderful movie All the Real Girls is now available on dvd. My copy is on its way to me (or should be by the end of the day, at least). Some of you won't like this movie and will call it slow and/or stilted, but I disagree. If you're the type of person who enjoys a movie with a slower pacing and a more heart-felt story, then I recommend this film heartily. Put it on your Netflix queue! It's probably my favorite movie so far this year. And it has Zooey Deschanel. She's number one on the current lust list.

My sister ([livejournal.com profile] barbiegail, 42, a elementary teacher from Wyoming, married, two daughters aged 19 and 16) posted some stories about young me in one of my entries from yesterday. One I'd like to share:

We got our first microwave oven when they were new and I was young. Maybe four or five or six. It was an Amana. Anyway, it had a timer function. My loving siblings, maxhemlockMeathead Mike and barbiegailBarb the Bionic Brat, told me that if they set the timer to 99:99 and it counted down to zero, the world would blow up. I, trusting my older siblings and thinking highly of them, would go NUTS whenever they set the timer. I would run over to the microwave and jam on the clear button until the danger was averted. So they started HOLDING ME BACK. I would kick and scream and cry and try to get free so that I could clear the timer and save the world, and they would just hold me back and laugh at me. My own brother and sister who are supposed to love me and treat me nice and buy me things (iPod). BUT: I have the last laugh. The world never did blow up thanks to my dilligence and rugged good looks. Well, dilligence. Because maybe the earth WOULD HAVE blown up if the timer reached zero. But because I made sure to get the clear button every time, we are all safe today. I am a hero.

Jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick! I have a new user icon (that I stole from [livejournal.com profile] pixelated!

And I might go see two movies tonight (Le Divorce and Dirty Pretty Things).

And I'm still reading The Engineer of Human Souls. It's taking me pretty much FOREVER. I may never finish it, because I suck. The next book, if I ever get to read another book, will be the light-and-easy Jurassic Park, which was my favorite book before I started my reading kick. I also have more Kundera on order.

And, um, I want an iPod.

And, ummmmmm, I guess that's it?
