Spellbound - A documentary about spelling bees. Very interesting, a good documentary that keeps you wondering about the outcome. The second-best documentary on competition that I can think of, after
Hands on a Hard Body. Interestingly, I think the spelling bee is just about as pointless as standing around keeping your hand on a truck. But maybe that's just me; I think spelling bees are pretty stupid. But the documentary was not.
Joey gives Spellbound three stars out of four and recommends it to fans of documentary film.
All the Real Girls -
Already reviewed it. Still loved it.
Three lines from
All the Real Girls that I felt I should remember:
1. "I just want to know that in a million years I can look at you close up and know that we can still talk about amazing things."
2. "I swear to God that if anyone ever smiles at me again, I'm going to freak out."
3. "You just want to forget about us? That's the saddest thing in the whole world."
And a bonus: "What if a water dog walked up right now... What would he say about you... LAND DOG?" You kinda have to see it to understand that one.
