An extra-bonus question.
Jun. 5th, 2003 04:12 pmAre you optimistic or pessimistic? This is actually vix's question in a now-deleted post of mine, but I'll answer it. It's weird, because I'm both. But I'm not in the middle, being either mildy optimistic or mildly pessimistic, but I'm usually at one extreme or the other. I'm super optimistic or super pessimistic. Even if I'm dealing with one specific topic, I can waver. For instance I might be looking at an investment and be optimistic about it's possibilities (sure it's going to go through the roof!) but be pessimistic ten seconds later when I actually stop to think about it (it's never going to happen, let's be real). I'm an optimist at heart, but I talk myself into pessimism. How's that? And I wish I were more of each, but in the opposite direction.
My choice...
Jun. 5th, 2003 08:06 pmIf it were up to me to save only one piece of art, it would be Amedeo Modigliani's Seated Nude, 1916 (link not safe for work, though it is just a painting). No matter what anyone pics will be wrong, and I'm picking something beautiful. I don't care at all if it's a dishonest representation of our times; I want beauty to survive.
