Dear Friend,
Hello. How are you? I am fine. I had a pretty good weekend. How was yours? I went into the city to see a play (
The Family of Mann) on Saturday night (I should really go see more live theater), and got to hang out with
magdalene1 and
postmoderngirl and
crankyasanoldma and
nymysys and
dynosaur. It was a good play. The girl star was a cutie. Afterwards we went to Benz's and drank beer and watched
Cyborg while MST3King. We also didn't play Uno. I got lots of hugs, which are of course always welcome.
On Sunday, I went to Woodfield Mall with my work friend Karen. She was in the market for a nice fountain pen, and I certainly wanted to look at some and test-drive them, so it was a good deal. She bought a lovely
Visconti Van Gogh that wrote butter smooth. It's really a beautiful pen -- a much better writer than I thought it would be. I resisted to urge to buy one, saving up for that sea green
Stipula Duetto that I want so much. I did, however, buy some cards and papers at Papyrus. I have so many cards that I may never go through them. I'm slowly writing "real" letters to people and that's a good feeling. You don't take the time to handwrite letters to people you don't care about. I also found an interesting little craft project for making custom stationery out of boring plain cards, so I might give that a try as well. Anyway, I hope the people I write choose to write me back. That would be keen.
Did you see in
mannyvision's journal that he has
an entry where you can anonymously say nice things about your friends? That's such a swell idea. Manny's a great guy, and I don't mind it being known that I said that.
Oh! I am reading
Fifth Business by Robertson Davies. Did I tell you that? I don't remember. Anyway, i didn't get to read it as much as I wanted to this weekend. I read some last night, so now I'm done with nine chapters in the first section. No, really, this affects you. It's not like that's information that only affects one person who I could have just as easily sent an e-mail to.
Anyway, work is kinda busy (even though the boss is away this week), so I best sign off. I have a good idea for a poll later today, so we'll try that. Did you take my
three goofy polls from last week? They're goofy. How 'bout my
photo captioning poll?
Anyway, I'd best be going now. *hugs* to you.
Joey
