Pete SpecialMelissa ZiemerThe ConvulsionsThe GhettobilliesI have no info on Gary Yearkins other than that he's also in The Juleps with Melissa Ziemer. Pete Special plays blues from what I've read, and used to play guitar for Bob Dylan's band in the early 90's. Interestingly enough, he's playing in my hometown (waaay out in the suburbs) the next day, so if I like him I can see him again. The Convulsions play "British Rhythm and Blues" and is fronted by harmonica god Ben Ruth, who participated in the greatest Sonic Voodoo show ever. Their drummer is also the drummer for the Ghettobillies, I think. Their website has some audio you can listen to.
I've seen Melissa Zeimer (met her once, actually, at a Ghettobillies show where she made us all dance) once, where she played a solo acoustic set. I like her music quite a bit. She used to be in a band called Gertrude (that's the band linked to her name above, MP3's available). And of course if you pay any amount of attention to my journal, then you know how much I like the Ghettobillies.
Anyway, the first artist will go on around 10:30 or so, and I imagine that the Ghettobillies won't be finished until 3:30am rolls around. I, personally, am up for the entire show because
I love live music. Is anyone up for it all? People are certainly also welcome to come later or leave early, if they need to. I'd prefer not to go to the show alone, though. Who's up for it? Talk to me people!
