The roof is on, um, my floor.

roof's half installed. my pansy-ass cordless drill battery died. It's recharging now and i'll be back at it in 45 minutes or so. So far it's going fairly smoothly, but I still don't want to do it. When I'm done, I'mma get something for dinner and maybe clean my utility closet, which is a disaster.

Roof installation, part deux.

A 45 minute charging on my drill battery is worth about jack shit. Two 5/8" holes worth, to be precise. As I have only two more holes to drill, I shall wait 45 minutes for the battery to charge, then I should be ready to finish the job.

By the way, the 10 minute "how-to" video is even more worthless than my drill battery.

I have a roof. My last two holes that needed drilling went crappily. So I needed a round file to rasp it out. So I packed all my garbage down well enough that I could drive it and went to WalMart (it was Hellish, I bought nothing there) and then Home Depot. Somehow by the time I left Home Depot I had a file AND a cordless Dremel. I don't really know if I need a Dremel, but whatever. Actually, there is one thing left to do on the Jeep roof that the Dremel will come in handy, though it would have been better if Bestop just made the fucking thing right to begin with. So, anyway, I have a roof. All of my tools are still in the car where they shall remain until tomorrow. Dinner will be chicken noodle soup and a ham-and-cheese Hot Pocket.

S'mores do not make everything better. They don't make things any worse, though, so it's all good.
