Spider-Man: 3 stars out of 4
May. 6th, 2002 02:19 amSo, I saw Spider-Man today. It was what it was. It was a fine little popcorn flick. In other words, if you want to sit there and eat popcorn and not think, then this is a fine film to choose. It's got decent acting, decent story, decent effects, a few laughs, etc. I liked the soundtrack, which is not surprising since it's by Danny Elfman. I liked the casting of Maguire and Dunst, since they're not typical heart-throb material, but rather tangential heart-throbs, ifyouknowwhatimean. Some of the special effects of Spidey flying through the streets were kinda video-gamish. There were LOTS of melodramatic moments. And, of course, the fight scenes were rather typical and predictable.
I can say this for sure, though: It's the best "Macho Man" Randy Savage movie EVER.
