Read more... )This is why I generally avoid strip clubs now. That and the fact that the girls are literally half my age.

If there is one thing that online dating has taught me it's that my so-called irresistible charm is actually quite resistable indeed.

The bad news is that I've been having a lot of problems with self-esteem lately. Mostly this manifests itself by not being able to stay on my diet even though I know that I need to.

The good news is that Lou Malnati's pizza is still delicious.

I keep meaning to update my journal, but I keep not having anything to talk about. Do you have anything interesting to ask?

We're all doing the LJ thing again, huh? Awesome; I'm in!

Um, I played bridge tonight. I'm playing again tomorrow. I enjoy bridge.

Okay, it was nice catching up! Let's talk again soon!

I can't wait to get these stitches removed from the palm of my hand so that my sex life can get back to normal.

I officially became a Life Master in bridge. Y'all already knew that because you read facebook. The best analog I have heard is that it is like getting a black belt; it denotes a level of competence but certainly doesn't indicate that you're the best around or that nothing's ever going to keep you down. I've only once had to sweep the leg in a bridge tournament.

Anyway, that's also the first thing I've ever ticked off of my very short bucket list. I also have visiting every state (I'm missing VT, NM, AZ, and AK) and doing a painting in the Bob Ross style, which I tried once and abandoned. I think I'll try again this summer. I know my sister would love a painting as a Christmas gift if I could get something that I was at least moderately happy with.

I'm going to join Netflix tonight, I think, for the Arrested Development.

Other than that, it's all status quo and shit.

Y'all know that Susan and I are no longer together, right? If not, well... Surprise!

It was amicable. All is good. This all went down months ago (had been brewing longer than that). The plan/hope is for me to buy the house from her, which would be nice.

So, anyway, yeah. There's that.

Here's a poem for today because I never do that. I know if from Aaron Freeman's "Marvelous Clouds" album, which is an album of Rod McKuen covers. Stream the album here.

1. I'm kinda looking for another job. My company is underpaying me by a good 15%. One of the places that looks like it might pan out is my former employer.

2. After watching a thing about global pandemonium with Q, I am now on a survivalist kick. I already bought a good knife. Q has a lot of camping gear but I need boots and a sleeping bag. Eventually I want to have a small cart filled with survival stuff in a storage locker so we can get it and go if we need to. More on this later, maybe. I have a plan.
