So Operation: No Boring Walls started last night. I officially rename it to Operation: The Stupidest Idea I've Ever Had. Painting is hard and takes a long time. I have one room (which I call the Zen room) painted. It took four people and the better part of a night to do it. And now I hurt.

But that room is very pretty.

The rest of the place will have to wait until I've moved in because I really need to pack.

You know, I only met Ms. Gundy briefly before, and I remembered that she was cute-as-heck, but I didn't remember her being THAT cute. Rawr. The overalls and copious swearing only helped.

At the hardware store last time I was there (last week and it was Lowe's) they had this wallpaper. Only it wasn't regular wallpaper. It was wallpaper you TEAR INTO CHUNKS and THEN glue to your walls. Boy, THAT would be a non-boring wall! Think of it! Torn up chunks of wallpaper glued to your walls!

It was right next to the double paint rollers, so you can roll two colors of paint on your walls AT THE SAME TIME!

There was also stone-fleck spray paint. But you probably shouldn't spray paint your walls since you rent and all. Even if it would make your walls LOOK LIKE ROCK!

We've lived here for four years now, and haven't painted or remodeled anything, even though it really really needs it. We talk a good do-over project, but when it comes time to actually plan it and carry it out, we don't get much further than the paint-chip sample stage.

I admire you for even proceeding and completing one room.
