(no subject)
Q and I went to the Rheumatologist yesterday and she said "whoa, not so fast with the Behçet's diagnosis". Since Behçet's doesn't have a definitive test, she wants to rule out other possibilities like Chrons, Wegener's, Sarcoidosis, Lupus, Reiter's, and a bunch of other stuff. Seven vials of blood were drawn and a urine sample was taken as well. Oh, and a chest x-ray. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day they'll have some idea and hopefully have some medication to help make her feel better.
The rheumatologist was great. As soon as she walked in, she pointed out that she and Q had the same shoes on (Danskos) and later shared a website that has them cheap (clogoutlet.com). During the exam she saw oral ulcers on Q's uvula and went "wow!" all excitedly. She called me over to have a look and also showed Susan in the mirror. Q's uvula is very ulceriffic, which explains the coughing and sore throat she was having.
She's kinda miserable right now on two fronts: She's stuffy from allergies (and I think overuse of Afrin contributed to that as well) and we all now how that is. She's also super-fatuged. I'm trying to get her to cut back just a bit on the drugs so that she doesn't overmedicate too much. She's using a neti pot for the stuffiness and it's helping some.
Today it's back to the ophthalmologist who she also saw on Monday, and tomorrow it's back to the primary care doctor. Four visits in four days!
Poor girl, I just want her to feel better and there's nothing I can do but love her. :(
