Bretzeln

I have a hankering to make pretzels. Actually, I have a hankering to make Bretzeln, which would be the German way to say it (I think). As in perfectly authentic Bavarian-style pretzels.

So, does anyone have any food-grade lye laying about? I'll sign the disclaimer and spend the $40 on a half kilo of it if I have to, I suppose.

Cooking with caustic chemicals! Yum!
