beats a kick in the balls...

Well, my exciting prospects that I mentioned a couple of days ago seem to be dwindling, but other exciting prospects are popping up their stead. I'm working on getting a new job and will be getting a second interview with one place as soon as it can be arranged. They might have to fly me out to Massachusetts (Uxbridge) for the interview, though. So that's an exciting possibility. I'm hoping that I can get 15% more than I'm making now, but I'd probably consider 10%. (The job is in the Chicago area, by the way, but the company's US headquarters is in MA.)

Other than that, same ol' same ol'. Oh, I made pot roast and it will be a yummy lunch. I'm probably going to make queso fundido tonight. I should really make the tortilla myself instead of buying them, but I'm pretty lazy.

Jon, and other stuff...

Because I haven't mentioned it in a long time...

You should go read my favorite story, Jon by George Saunders. It's really brilliant, IMHO. Many people don't think quite so highly of it, though, so take a grain of salt (kosher) from the salt pile and consume it at the same time that you consume my recommendation.

On deafness and cochlear implants

I just watched an interesting documentary called Sound and Fury. It's about deafness and cochlear implants (an implant that gives deaf people some degree of hearing). read about how it made me think )
